After learning she had metastatic ampullary cancer in 2013, Adrienne Skinner first underwent chemotherapy before turning to a clinical trial of an immunotherapeutic targeting the genetics of her disease. That clinical trial lead to the first ever approval of an anti-cancer therapeutic to treat cancer with that biomarker regardless of where in the body the disease originated.
